Santillana’s strong presence in the countries where it operates would not be possible if we did not pay constant attention to quality, innovation and service as targets for the organization as a whole.
The quality of our educational texts and materials can be clearly seen in the conceptual rigor of our science materials; in the carefully chosen language that ensures comprehension; in the use of those teaching strategies that are most appropriate to each situation and context; and, finally, in the attention paid to graphic design - care that, in addition to aiding comprehension, helps make our books aesthetically valuable works.
Innovation is reflected in the systematic adoption and application of the latest advances in education science, communication techniques and new technologies in the development of the learning tools we offer to teachers and students.
In 2011, after years of research and ongoing experience in Ibero-America, the education project Sistema UNO embarked upon the digitization of education. It involved the design of an educational initiative that responds to the profound changes affecting world in which children live today. Sistema UNO provides everything needed to meet the parameters established by UNESCO and to achieve the highest levels of educational quality set by international benchmarks such as PISA. The UNO model is centered on two programs: SE (Skills Education System) and BE (Bicultural English Program). It also manages the digitization of the school, ongoing training for the educational community and the constant evaluation of their performance.
Finally, we should highlight our dedication to service to teachers and schools. At Santillana we are committed to meeting all the needs that teachers and schools might have regarding teaching materials and management tools. To this end, we have created platforms such as e-vocación in Spain, Santillana Conectados in Chile, Portal do Professor in Brazil, Conexión Santillana in Argentina, Aula Digital in Colombia, Docentes en Red in Peru, Plaza Santillana in USA, and Club del docente in Venezuela, among others.
